Deadly Headley - 35 Years From Alpha [ON-U CD 0014 UK 1999 FLAC]

Originally released as a vinyl album (ON-U LP 14) in 1982. Clearly the masters of this rare On-U album are long lost, so the occasional crackle in the background hints as to the likely source of this remastered cd reissue. 

Here are eight splendid jams featuring the standard On-U crew led this time by 'Deadly' Headley Bennet on sax, with vocals added by the sweet, sweet voice of Bim Sherman. This record is superb, and although not as dub heavy as other label releases, the legendary saxophonist leads his merry band of followers through a joyful blend of roots reggae and On-U sounds. Deadly sadly passed away in August 2016.
