Originally released as a vinyl album on Invictus Records in 1974. It is crazy that this classic album has only ever seen a compact disc release in Japan, at least I suppose that has saved us from a long line of compressed and loud remasters. I have this on a 1976 vinyl pressing as well as this Japanese compact disc picked up on my travels.

Sly Stone may have been championed as the king of psychedelic funk, however I prefer General Johnson and his groovier board members. Bonus points are on offer to any readers who can spot the tracks which lead me to seek out this album back in the early nineties (big hint - a Mancunian psyche-pop troupe covered it).
