Devine & Statton - The Prince Of Wales [TWI 873-2 BEL 1989 FLAC]

Allison Statton was the voice of Weekend and Young Marble Giants, Ian Devine was the guitarist for art-punks Ludus, together they were Devine & Statton. The due were joined by Blaine L Reininger on keyboards and violin for this charming album of very English acoustic pop which seems oddly out of place on Crepescule. Perhaps they would have fared much better on a UK label, especially considering that similar acts such as The Sundays and Fairground Attraction were doing rather well at the time. Some of you may already know their cover of Bizzare Love Triangle which features on this album.
