Cabaret Voltaire - Shadow Of Fear [CABS 30CD UK 2020 FLAC]
Okay, let us get this bit out of the way first, A Cabaret Voltaire album without Mal cannot be a Cabs album, despite what Mute Records and Richard H. Kirk will want us to believe. Credit to Mute for holding back on the CD mastering, their recent releases on the format have been brickwalled to death, most of their recent vinyl pressings have been poor - hence my decision to buy the latest Richard H. Kirk album on the silver platter format.

ReplyDeleteReally enjoying the WAV download. Kirk's output tailed off from 2010. The last Sandoz Digital Lifetime and Holding On are quite different from his work in the 1990s and highly recommended.
ReplyDeleteThanks! My vinyl is 'in the mail' supposedly, so while I wait, I'll listen to the CD rip. (I'll let you know if the Vinyl turns out to be good quality). ...and yeah, not sure why he couldn't just call it a Richard H Kirk album, he knows we would have bought it anyway.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...not your rip BM... more a RHK criticism..... his previous album Dasein....i felt back on form.........initial listen....i'm lking this ....more on a Cabs ride....but......not compelling in this day and age... i get more edge of Mallinders projects
ReplyDeleteI bought this from their bandcamp. Ultimately, I was unimpressed. It wasn't horrid, but.....
